Furthermore, the Board undertakes. a) In the event that it is necessary to reduce the number of employees, to do so in accordance with Article 12:00, Seniority, and the following clauses: b) In the case of an employee who is permanently set back to a lower paid position because of new equipment or revised operating procedures, for a period of three (3) months to maintain the rate of their present position at the time of set back and for a further period of three (3) months to pay an adjusted rate which will be midway between the rate of their present position and the position to which they are being set back. At the end of this six (6) month period, the rate of the new permanent position will apply. c) In the case of a regular employee with one year of continuous service or more, who is laid off from the Board because of new equipment or revised operating procedures, the employee will be given a minimum of three (3) months notice of separation or equal pay in lieu of notice.
