Common use of General Duty Clause in Contracts

General Duty. The University shall provide each employee with employment and a place of employment that is safe and healthful and free from each recognized hazard that is causing or likely to cause serious harm or death to an employee. The University and the Union recognize the need for an effective health and safety program for the mutual benefit of employees and the University. The University agrees to abide by all health and safety laws, rules, regulations and guidelines and adopts those laws as if they were a part of this MOU.
