Geology & Soils/Mineral Resources Sample Clauses

Geology & Soils/Mineral Resources. The Geology & Soils/Mineral Resources chapter of the EIR will summarize the setting and describe the potential effects from soil erosion, earthquakes, liquefaction, and expansive soils, as well as identify any unique geological features within the project area. This chapter will be based on a Geotechnical Report prepared by Xxxxxxxxx Consulting Group, under contract with the applicant, and the technical peer review by Geocon, under contract with Xxxxx (please see Appendix B for a complete scope and resumes of key personnel). Geocon will perform a peer review of the existing geotechnical report in order to provide professional opinions on the appropriateness and adequacy of the report with respect to project conditions, regulatory requirements, and industrial standards of practice. Geocon will review the provided geotechnical report; perform a site visit to observe current site conditions; review published documents, geologic maps, and other geological and geotechnical literature pertaining to the site; and prepare a formal letter to present Geocon’s professional opinions on the appropriateness and adequacy of the report. Xxxxx review the formal letter and will incorporate the results into the EIR analysis. If it is determined that additional analysis needs to be prepared for the project, Xxxxx will consult with City staff to determine the appropriate approach.
