HEALTH/DENTAL AND FLEX BENEFITS PROGRAM. During the term of this MOU, the City will provide benefits in accordance with the Civilian Modified Flexible Benefits Program (“Flex Program”) and any modifications thereto as recommended by the Joint Labor-Management Benefits Committee (“JLMBC”), approved by the City Council, and implemented by the Personnel Department. Use of the word “Civilian” in regards to employee benefit packages is for convenience of reference. Such language does not impact peace officer authority or standing granted to Unit members under Federal, State, or local laws. The sections below are intended to reflect the terms of the Flex Program as approved by the City Council on July 17, 1996. If there are discrepancies between the benefits described herein and the actual Flex Program approved by the City Council, the Flex Program benefits will take precedence.
