First day of regular paid service within a classification. 21 22 Employees hired before January 16, 1996, and continuing in paid service 23 within the same classification, shall have a hire date of January 16, 1996. 24 25 Employees hired or transferred into a classification shall have, after January 26 16, 1996, a hire date identical to the first day of regular paid service in the 27 classification.
