Holiday Observed in Excess of Eight (8) hours – Full-time Employees. When a holiday falls on a full-time employee’s scheduled workday, the employee is entitled to only eight (8) hours off without a reduction in pay. If the workday is a nine (9) hour day, the employee must use one (1) hour of non-sick leave accruals. If the workday is a ten (10) hour day, the employee must use two (2) hours of non-sick leave accruals. If the workday is a twelve (12) hour day, the employee must use four (4) hours of non-sick leave accruals. If the employee does not have any non-sick leave accrual balances, leave without pay (AWOP) will be authorized.
