Common use of Holiday Observed- Part-time Employees Clause in Contracts

Holiday Observed- Part-time Employees. Whenever a holiday is observed by the County, a part-time employee is entitled to observe the holiday (hours off) in the same ratio as his/her number of position hours bears to forty (40) hours, multiplied by eight (8) hours, without a reduction in pay. For example, a part- time employee whose position hours are 24 hours per week is entitled to 4.8 hours off work on a holiday (24/40 multiplied by 8 = 4.8). Hereinafter, the number hours produced by this calculation will be referred to as the “part-time employee’s holiday hours.”
