HOURS AND CONDITIONS OF WORK. 38.1 All Employees are hired by the Employer for the geographic area served by the Employer and are assigned, from time to time, to a school or schools which requires their services. (a) The normal hours of work per week for Employees shall be as scheduled by the Employer provided all hours shall be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. (b) Student Support Workers and Native Student Advisors will normally work an eight (8) hour day of recorded time based on a flexible work schedule, which may include working after school, in the evening, and on weekends. (d) Notwithstanding Article 38.2(b), in establishing positions the Employer will make reasonable efforts to avoid split shifts. (e) Subject to Article 29.8, there shall be no reduction in the total number of hours approved in the Staffing Allocation Plan for the Region for Library Technicians, Library Support Workers, Student Support Workers, Native Student Advisors and Educational Assistants after September 15th of each year. 5. When appropriate, the Employer shall support the bargaining unit member with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline of students in connection with the bargaining unit member's assigned work.
C. Meals and Rest Periods
1. There shall be a one-half (1/2) hour paid lunch period included in any schedule which exceeds six (6) hours. Such meal periods will be mutually scheduled except that a meal period will not be scheduled at the end of a scheduled shift.
2. Employees that work six (6) or more hours are entitle to two (2) fifteen (15) minute paid rest periods. Employees that work four (4) hours to less than six (6) hours are entitled to one (1) paid rest break of twenty (20) minutes.
3. Rest breaks will be mutually scheduled except that a rest period will not be excluded to shorten a shift. Breaks may be combined.
D. TRAINING
1. The training necessary to prepare aides for substitute positions within their bargaining unit will be made available on a regular basis.
2. One professional development day per year will be scheduled in part for the purpose of said training.

6. When appropriate, the Employer shall support the bargaining unit member with respect to the maintenance of control and five (5) days immediately preceding and five (5) days immediately following discipline of students in connection with the school yearbargaining unit member's assigned work.

HOURS AND CONDITIONS OF WORK. 38.1 All Employees are hired A. The standard recommended workday schedule for classroom unit members shall be provided annually by the Employer for Superintendent after consultation with the geographic area served by Association. Upon arrival at his/her assigned worksite, the Employer unit member shall check in on a daily time sheet and shall call or sign out when leaving the worksite at the end of a workday. The unit member’s workday ends as soon as his/her professional responsibilities and professional periods are assignedfulfilled. On those occasions when a unit member intends to remain on campus beyond the time when the site office closes, from time he/she shall notify that office of his/her intentions and receive permission to time, to a school or schools which requires their servicesdo so.
(a) B. The unit member’s workday shall include a thirty consecutive-minute lunch period without assigned responsibilities. Unit members may leave campus during their duty-free thirty minute lunch provided that the unit member checks in and out with the principal’s office staff or signs a sheet designed for that purpose.
C. All unit members are required to remain at their respective worksites during the workday except as provided for in Section B above unless otherwise authorized to leave by their immediate supervisor.
D. The site will designate at least two days a month as meeting-free days. These days may not be on the second and third Thursdays of each month, when Association meetings are scheduled. On Association meeting days, except under the most unusual circumstances, meetings will be avoided after the normal hours of work per week day.
E. On “minimum” days, the teacher’s workday shall end at 3:00 p.m. On minimum days scheduled at the high schools for Employees such events as back-to-school night, parent conferences and/or open house, teachers will be released at 12:30.
F. The minimum workday for all unit members other than regular classroom teachers shall be as scheduled by the Employer follows, provided all hours shall be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 a.m. their professional responsibilities are being fulfilled:
1. Speech and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusiveLanguage Therapist, Elementary Music Teacher: Same as upper grade (4-6) teachers.
2. Resource Teacher, Teacher on Special Assignment, Nurse, Library Media Teacher Grades 7-12: Seven (b7) Student Support Workers and Native Student Advisors will normally work an eight hours excluding 30-minute duty-free lunch.
3. Counselor: Eight (8) hour day of recorded time based on a flexible work schedule, which may include working after school, in the evening, and on weekendshours excluding 30-minute duty-free lunch.
(c) Following consultation with G. Each site will make an effort to develop a reasonably equitable supervisory duty schedule for duties during the Local, the hours of work provided in this Article may be modified in the event the Employer establishes a double shift system for a school or hours of schooling which are different than the normal hours established by the Employer.
