Common use of Identification of Positions Clause in Contracts

Identification of Positions. ‌ If, due to lack of funds, lack of work, for enhanced efficiency, or curtailment of operations, it is necessary to reduce the County work force, the Sheriff or his designee will determine the classes and number of positions to be reduced. All nonpermanent employees of the DCSO shall be laid off before any non- probationary, full-time employees. After the County has notified the employees who are to be laid off, the County will provide a list of such employees to the Association along with the applicable seniority list(s). The Association may request to meet and discuss the layoffs with the County.
