Common use of Illness In Line Of Duty Clause in Contracts

Illness In Line Of Duty. An employee who is absent from work because of personal injury received in the discharge of his duties or because of a communicable disease contracted in the course of employment, shall be entitled to illness-in-line-of-duty leave with pay for a period of ten days per year. Requests for additional illness-in-the-line- of-duty leave with pay will be considered by the Board on an individual basis. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. Employees will be covered by the workers' compensation insurance carried by the Board. Employees unable to resume normal duties due to illness-in-line-of-duty will be assisted by the Board for placement and/or rehabilitation.
