Common use of Impasse Clause in Contracts

Impasse. If notice has been given in accordance with the preceding sections and the parties have not been able to agree upon terms of a new Agreement within thirty (30) days prior to the expiration date of this Agreement, either party may institute impasse procedures in accordance with the rules of the Public Employment Relations Board. Once the impasse procedures have been invoked, the current Agreement shall remain in full force and effect until the conclusion of the impasse process.
