Common use of In-service Days for New Teachers Clause in Contracts

In-service Days for New Teachers. Members of the teachers bargaining unit who are in their first year of employment with the Xxxxx County School District and placed under contract at the beginning of the school year will be required to attend no more than two days of in-service training outside the normal work calendar. As part of the in-service program provided during these two days, Xxxxx Teachers United will be allotted a reasonable period of time on the program for the purpose of sharing information. The Xxxxx Teachers United may make recommendations to the Superintendent regarding the planning of the in-service program. The time allotted for this purpose will be by mutual agreement of the Superintendent of Schools and the president of Xxxxx Teachers United. Compensation for the in-service training is included in the base pay of the employee's salary schedule.
