Common use of Income Protection and Transfers Clause in Contracts

Income Protection and Transfers. employee who is displaced as a result of technological change shall be offered an opportunity to bid on jobs held by employees with less seniority, providing the displaced employee possesses the qualifications required of the job held by the junior employee. An employee placed in a lower-rated position as a result of technological change shall not have their wages reduced but shall continue to receive their old rate until such time as the agreement rate for their new position is equal to their actual rate of pay. An employee whose services are terminated by the Board because of technological change shall be entitled to severance pay equivalent to one (1) week's pay for each year of service.
