Increase in Hours. When a position held by a regular part-time employee is increased in hours it shall not become a new position and when a part-time position is increased in hours the incumbent shall accept the position of the total hours, or the job shall be posted. Also, where there is an increase in hours or personnel which created an upgrading to a higher classification, the position shall be posted.

Increase in Hours. (1) When a position held by a regular full-time or regular part-time employee is increased in hours hours, it shall not become a new position and when a part-time position is increased in hours there shall be no requirement to post the position, providing the incumbent shall is willing to accept the position of the total hours, or the job shall be posted. Also, where there is an increase in hours or personnel which created an upgrading and the increase in hours does not result in a conversion of status.
(2) If the incumbent is unwilling to accept the increase in hours, the incumbent is not subject to the layoff provisions of the Collective Agreement.
(3) If the increase in hours leads to a higher classificationconversion of status, all hours must be included in the position shall be postednew posting.
