Independent Advocacy. Each participant shall have access to an independent advocate or advocacy system in the state. This function is performed by individuals or entities that do not provide direct services, perform assessments, or have monitoring, oversight or fiscal responsibilities for the demonstration.

Independent Advocacy. 54. When advising and advocating on behalf of a Student, SSAA’s Student Academic Advisers: • Will represent the Student free-of-charge and conditions • Must be completely independent and impartial • Are to be guided by the principles of fairness and equity • Have a duty to act in the overall best interests of the Student based on the facts and having regard to both SSAA’s and Swinburne University’s statutes, regulations, policies and procedures • Owe a duty of confidentiality to the Student • If so authorised by the Student, will have the right to speak and make submissions on behalf of the Student • Will make sure that Swinburne University and the Student are both aware of relevant information and issues affecting a matter • Have a right to information from Swinburne University necessary to enable them to perform their function • Are to be free of any interests that conflict with the role described above.
Independent Advocacy. The co-ordination of advocacy planning is undertaken across Tayside by NHS Tayside. The commissioning of local independent advocacy services is however undertaken by Angus Council Social Work and Health. Independent Advocacy is provided by Xxxxx Independent Advocacy. Professional, volunteer and citizen advocacy is provided alongside support for self advocacy groups. People within learning disabilities can and do access this service. The Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act will make additional demands on advocacy services and plans will need to be made to ensure the adequate provision of advocacy services.

  • Independent Advice Each Purchaser understands that nothing in this Agreement or any other materials presented by or on behalf of the Company to the Purchaser in connection with the purchase of the Securities constitutes legal, tax or investment advice.   • Independent Audits The Department staff shall review annual independent audits for adherence to generally accepted auditing principles and to the Department’s audit instructions. Incomplete or incorrect audits may be returned to the Grantee for correction.

  • Independent Audit The Grantee shall submit, in a format specified by the department, the independent financial compliance audit prepared by an independent Certified Public Accountant for the previous fiscal year.
