Common use of Informal Grievance Stage Clause in Contracts

Informal Grievance Stage. (a) The University and the Union mutually agree that it is the desire of the Parties hereto that grievances of employees shall be adjudicated/dealt with as quickly as reasonably possible. If an employee has a grievance, they shall first discuss the matter, at a meeting arranged for this purpose, with their Chair/Director, with or without a Union Designate, within fifteen (15) days after the employee would reasonably be expected to have become aware of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance. The Chair/Director or Member may request that a representative of FASR or CUPE 3913 participate in the informal grievance process. If a FASR or CUPE representative participates, a representative from the other will be invited to participate.
