Common use of Instructional Responsibility Clause in Contracts

Instructional Responsibility. The primary role of faculty is to meet their teaching obligations in a professional manner, with integrity and respect. Faculty are appointed to one or more departments. (See Deans’ guidelines on dual appointments for more information.) Faculty shall be qualified to teach their particular subject matter. They shall satisfy the requirements of the appropriate generic course syllabi, meet scheduled classes, keep posted office hours, conduct classroom, course, program and, when applicable, general education assessment activities, and fulfill scholarly obligations. Faculty will submit enrollment and grade reports to the office of Registration and Records by the established deadlines. Faculty will be informed of these deadlines at the start of each semester. Student Development and Library and Television Services faculty will also carry out the professional duties and responsibilities assigned to them.
