Investigation of Sick Leave. The Employer reserves the right to investigate any reported illness or injury of an employee. An employee may be required to submit proof of illness from a medical practitioner for any absence and shall be required to provide proof of illness if the absence is in excess of three (3) working days.

An If after investigation the Employer feels that there may be abuse of sick leave or if the illness is in excess of three (3) consecutive working days, the employee may be required to submit proof of illness from a medical practitioner. A medical practitioner for any absence and shall include but not limited to a family doctor, specialist, physiotherapist, chiropractor or dentist with expertise in the relevant field. Proof of illness, if required, shall be required to provide proof of illness if asked for during the absence is in excess of three (3) working daysillness.
