INVOLVING SERVICE USERS AND CARERS. The Partnership will ensure that service users are involved in decision making at all levels; individual assessment and care planning, service provision, planning, training and development, commissioning and monitoring. The Barking and Dagenham Learning Disability Action Group (see Schedule 5 paragraph 5.5) will provide an opportunity for users and other stakeholders to raise issues and concerns and comment on the plans and proposals from the Learning Disability Partnership Board. The action group will take responsibility for implementing agreed elements of the Joint Investment Plan including the consultation and monitoring programme. Service Users will be supported within the partnership arrangement by Barking and Dagenham Mencap. There will be a user group supporting people to be involved in the Learning Disability Partnership Board, the Action Group and other meetings and events. There will be assistance with organising and facilitating an annual conference, the topics of which will be identified by users. Membership of the Learning Disability Partnership Board will include people with Learning Disabilities and carers.
