Joint Health and Safety Committee. A. Purpose The purpose of the committee is to identify and investigate health and safety hazards and make recommendations on preventive measures. Additionally, the committee will assist in monitoring all ongoing health and safety programs to assure their effectiveness in preventing hazardous working conditions. Investigation and monitoring may include work site inspections as requested by the Union. The committee shall have the authority to make recommendations to correct health and health and safety hazards. The committee may research and make recommendations for safer substitutes or modifications to the new equipment, medical treatments and/or processes to the Product Review Analysis Committee. The Employer shall provide the Committee on a quarterly basis with data containing the vital information on all work related injuries and illnesses, including but not limited to injury-on-duty quarterly reports which will include needle stick and sharps injuries.
