Joint Health & Safety Committee. (a) The Company and the Union agree to utilize and empower a Joint Health & Safety Committee in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act. (b) The Committee shall be comprised of eight (8) employees, four (4) being appointed by the Company and four (4) being appointed by the Union. There will be two (2) Union representatives on day shift and one (1) on afternoon shift and one (1) on midnight shift, so long as such shifts are operating in the plant. (c) Two (2) Co-chairpersons will be selected, one of the Co- Chairpersons shall be a Union member chosen by the Union members. The other Co-Chairperson will be a Company member chosen by the Company. The Union Co- Chairperson and the Company Co-Chairperson shall be allowed up to two (2) hours per week to jointly meet. Note: During absences of the Co-Chairperson(s), respective alternates will be recognized. (d) Time spent by Members of this Committee in the course of their plant duties shall be considered as time worked and shall be paid in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, including authorized overtime if any. (i) The Company will identify the duties of the Joint Health & Safety Committee in the posted Health & Safety Policy. The following are some of the recognized duties: (1) Identify situations that may be a source of danger or hazard to workers; (2) Receive information from the workers and the Company as well as make recommendations to the Company and the workers for the improvement of the health and safety of workers; (3) Recommend to the Company and the workers the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of programs, measures and procedures respecting the health and safety of workers; (4) Monthly inspections of the plant of all places of employment including buildings, structures, grounds, tools, equipment, and work methods and practices will be conducted by Management and members of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Safety tours will include all shifts. (5) Receive prompt notification of any fatalities and/or serious injuries resulting from work related accidents as well as be informed of any major incidents that did not result in serious injuries; and review accident and incident investigations to ensure completeness and ensure preventative measures have been done. (6) Hold regular meetings at least once a month or more frequently if mutually agreed upon by the Co- chairpersons. The Co-chairs shall alternate responsibility for chairing the meeting. (7) Approve the content of the regular health & safety meetings with the plant employees. (8) The Co-Chairs shall be responsible for posting minutes of the Health and Safety Committee no later than five (5) days after meetings. (ii) Concerns will be documented and discussed at JHSC meetings for resolution. (iii) The Company will hold health & safety meetings a minimum of ten (10) times per year.

(b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a Joint member of its Accident Prevention - Health & Safety Committee at least one (1) representative selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. (c) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. (d) The Hospital agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfil its functions. (e) Meetings shall be held every third (3rd ) month or more frequently at the call of the chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. (f) Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with (b) hereof shall serve for a term of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment which may be renewed for further periods of one (1) year. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention - Health & Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Hospital at his regular or premium rate as may be applicable. CUPE’s representative(s) to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be given one (1) hour of paid preparation time as per the Occupational Health & Safety ActAct to prepare for each meeting. (bg) The Committee shall be comprised Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of eight (8) employees, four (4) being appointed by the Company and four (4) being appointed by the Union. (ch) Two (2) Co-chairpersons Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee’s physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be selected, one granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the Co- Chairpersons shall be a Union member chosen by the Union members. The other Co-Chairperson will be a Company member chosen by the Company. The Union Co- Chairperson and the Company Co-Chairperson shall be allowed up maternity leave referred to two (2) hours per week to jointly meet. Joint Health & Safety Committee. (a) The Company Hospital and the Union agree that they mutually desire to utilize maintain standards of safety and empower health in the Hospital in order to prevent accidents, injury and illness. b) Recognizing its responsibilities under the applicable legislation, the Hospital agrees to accept as a Joint member of its Accident Prevention - Health & Safety Committee at least one representative selected or appointed by the Union from amongst bargaining unit employees. c) Such Committee shall identify potential dangers and hazards, institute means of improving health and safety programs and recommend actions to be taken to improve conditions related to safety and health. d) The Hospital agrees to co-operate reasonably in providing necessary information to enable the Committee to fulfill its functions. e) Meetings shall be held every third month or more frequently at the call of the chair if required. The Committee shall maintain minutes of all meetings and make the same available for review. f) Any representative appointed or selected in accordance with (b) hereof shall serve for a term of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment which may be renewed for further periods of one (1) year. Time off for such representative(s) to attend meetings of the Accident Prevention - Health & Safety Committee in accordance with the foregoing shall be granted and time so spent attending such meetings shall be deemed to be work time for which the representative(s) shall be paid by the Hospital at his regular or premium rate as may be applicable. CUPE’s representative(s) to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be given one (1) hour of paid preparation time as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act to prepare for each meeting. g) The Union agrees to endeavour to obtain the full co-operation of its membership in the observance of all safety rules and practices. h) Pregnant employees may request to be transferred from their current duties if, in the professional opinion of the employee’s physician, the pregnancy may be at risk. If such a transfer is not feasible, the pregnant employee, if she so requests, will be granted an unpaid leave of absence before commencement of the maternity leave referred to in Article 12.06. i) Where the Hospital identifies high risk areas where employees are exposed to Hepatitis B, the Hospital will p rovide, at no cost to the employees, a Hepatitis B vaccine. The Hospital accepts that one (1) CUPE member who is to serve on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee will be selected among those to be trained as certified workers under the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Any costs associated with the initial training of a certified worker will be paid by the Hospital, or as may be prescribed pursuant to the Occupational Health & Safety Act. (b) The Committee shall be comprised of eight (8) employees, four (4) being appointed by the Company and four (4) being appointed by the Union. There will be two (2) Union representatives on day shift and one (1) on afternoon shift and one (1) on midnight shift, so long as such shifts are operating in the plant. (c) Two (2) Co-chairpersons will be selected, one of the Co- Chairpersons shall be a Union member chosen by the Union members. The other Co-Chairperson will be a Company member chosen by the Company. The Union Co- Chairperson and the Company Co-Chairperson shall be allowed up to two (2) hours per week to jointly meet. Note: During absences of the Co-Chairperson(s), respective alternates will be recognized. (d) Time spent by Members of this Committee in the course of their plant duties shall be considered as time worked and shall be paid in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, including authorized overtime if any. (i) The Company will identify the duties of the Joint Health & Safety Committee in the posted Health & Safety Policy. The following are some of the recognized duties: (1) Identify situations that may be a source of danger or hazard to workers; (2) Receive information from the workers and the Company as well as make recommendations to the Company and the workers for the improvement of the health and safety of workers; (3) Recommend to the Company and the workers the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of programs, measures and procedures respecting the health and safety of workers; (4) Monthly inspections of the plant of all places of employment including buildings, structures, grounds, tools, equipment, and work methods and practices will be conducted by Management and members of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. Safety tours will include all shifts. (5) Receive prompt notification of any fatalities and/or serious injuries resulting from work related accidents as well as be informed of any major incidents that did not result in serious injuries; and review accident and incident investigations to ensure completeness and ensure preventative measures have been done. (6) Hold regular meetings at least once a month or more frequently if mutually agreed upon by the Co- chairpersons. The Co-chairs shall alternate responsibility for chairing the meeting. (7) Approve the content of the regular health & safety meetings with the plant employees. (8) The Co-Chairs shall be responsible for posting minutes of the Health and Safety Committee no later than five (5) days after meetings. (ii) Concerns will be documented and discussed at JHSC meetings for resolution. (iii) The Company will hold health & safety meetings a minimum of ten (10) times per year.

(ii) Concerns will be documented and discussed at JHSC meetings for resolutionOffice. (iii) The Company Supervisors will hold health & safety meetings a minimum of ten (10) times per year.
