REPRESENTATIVES AND COMMITTEES. (a) The Union shall provide a list of the names of the local Union Executive, committee members and representatives to the Employer. This list will be revised when changes occur. (b) Union representatives and members of committees must obtain permission from their immediate supervisor before absenting themselves from their place of duty to engage in any activity relating to the affairs of the Union. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. (c) A Union interview of up to fifteen (15) minutes shall take place for all newly hired employees during the orientation program. The purpose of such meeting will be to provide the employee with a copy of the current Collective Agreement and pamphlets explaining union activities. Notwithstanding the union interview, no Union activities or meetings will be carried out during regularly scheduled hours or on the Employer's premises without the express permission of the immediate Supervisor. Such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. A copy of this Agreement will be issued by the Employer to each nurse. All costs involved in the preparation of the Agreement will be shared equally by the Union and the Employer. (d) The Employer shall pay representatives and committee members their respective salaries for all regular time while attending mutually agreed upon meetings. 10.02 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select the following: (a) The Labour Management Committee shall have equal numbers of management and staff and at least one shall be a Nurse Practitioner and at least one of whom will be a member of the Union executive. This committee shall meet every two (2) months unless otherwise agreed. Where possible agenda items will be exchanged at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting. (b) three (3) members to serve on a Grievance Committee, at least one of whom shall be a member of the Union executive. (c) up to five (5) members to serve on the Negotiating Committee. (d) one (1) member to serve on the Joint Health and Safety Committee. This member represents the workers under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and will be trained to be a certified worker as defined under the Act. This committee shall meet quarterly unless otherwise agreed. Where possible, agenda items will be exchanged at least five (5) calendar days prior to the meeting. REPRESENTATIVES AND COMMITTEES. D-1 In reference to Article 6.02 (a), there shall be forty-five (45) Union Representatives. D-2 In reference to Article 6.02(b), there shall be a Grievance Committee composed of four (4) union members and the Bargaining Unit President. (a) In reference to Article 6.03 (a), the Union and the Hospital shall each appoint up to four (4) persons and the Bargaining Unit President to the Hospital-Association Committee. The Hospital and the Union may invite other persons to meetings of this Committee, as required, to deal with specific situations as they arise. (b) In reference to Article 6.03 (e), the bargaining unit will notify the Hospital in advance of each meeting which two (2) Committee representatives will be paid per meeting.

This is not limited to dealing with grievances and conducting Union interviews. 9.02 The Union shall notify the Employer in writing of the names of its Union Representatives for all purposes under the Collective Agreement. The Union will notify the Employer of any changes of such personnel before the Employer shall be required to recognize them. 9.03 The Employer agrees to give representatives of the Ontario Nurses' Association access to the premises of the Employer for the purpose of attending grievance meetings or any other meetings with the Employer, provided that prior arrangements are made with the Employer. Such representatives shall have access to the premises only with the approval of the Employer, which will not be unreasonably withheld.

(b) The Employer will recognize a Grievance Committee of two (2) nurses one of whom will be the Bargaining Unit President or designate. (c) The Employer shall not be required to pay nurses on the Grievance Committee or the grievor for time spent at arbitration hearings.
