Common use of Joint Safety Committee Clause in Contracts

Joint Safety Committee. The Employer will establish a joint safety committee and the Union to promulgate mutually agreed upon rules and procedures, which in their opinion will best protect the safety of the employees, students, staff and the public. The grievance committee will serve as the Union's representative on such safety committee. The joint safety committee will meet when appropriate but at least once each year to evaluate the safety rules and procedures of the bargaining unit. This committee is not to replace the District Safety Committee; the District Safety Committee will include a Union representative.
