Jury Duty/Court Appearance. 1. Should a staff member be called for jury duty, she/he shall provide a copy of the subpoena to the immediate supervisor. Staff members who serve during their normal work schedule will not be penalized in any way for doing so. They will receive full pay if they endorse the check received from the court or pay the amount shown on their record slip, less travel allowance, within fifteen (15) days of return from jury duty. While on jury duty, a staff member is required to report daily their schedule for the following day and must report to work when his/her presence is not required at court. The time spent on jury duty will not be charged against personal leave and will count as time on the job. Staff members must submit to their supervisor a record from the courts of the number of days served. 2. A staff member will be excused with pay for the time necessary for appearances in legal (court) proceedings connected with the staff member’s employment or with the school district, provided that the staff member is subpoenaed to appear by the Board, the Administration or someone acting on their behalf.
