Common use of Jury Duty, Subpoena and Quarantine Clause in Contracts

Jury Duty, Subpoena and Quarantine. When an employee is required to be absent because of jury duty, or as a witness in any court to which the employee has been summoned in any proceedings to which the employee is not a party of one of the persons charged, the employee shall be subject to neither loss of salary nor deduction sick leave credit, provided that the employee pays to the Board any fees, exclusive of travelling allowances and living expenses, that the employee receives as a juror or as a witness. When an employee is quarantined or otherwise prevented from attending to duties because of exposure to a communicable disease, the employee shall be subject to neither loss of pay, seniority, nor deduction from sick leave credits.
