JURY DUTY PAY. Any employee who is required to serve on a municipal, county, or federal jury, or grand jury, shall be paid the base hourly rate for the time lost from the regularly scheduled work shift by reason of such service subject to the following provisions:
JURY DUTY PAY. When an employee is summoned for jury duty, the employee must contact his or her supervisor immediately, but in no event less than 14 days prior to date on which the employee is required to report. Full-time and part-time employees are eligible for up to 15 days of jury duty pay for scheduled time missed. Compensation will be limited to the difference between the employee’s regular straight–time pay and any jury duty pay the employee has received. When an employee is released from jury duty and all or part of the employee’s scheduled work shift remains, the employee must contact his/her supervisor to determine whether it is necessary to report to work. In no case will an employee be required to serve on jury duty and work a combined total of more than 40 hours per week. The above guidelines also apply to an employee required to attend a court hearing or other legal proceeding involving the Employer.
JURY DUTY PAY. (a) An employee who is required to serve on a jury shall be compensated for days actually spent on jury duty when he would, otherwise, have been at work.
(b) The employee shall receive the difference between his jury fees and his normal day’s pay for that time he would have been regularly employed had he not been serving on the jury. The em- ployee shall be required to report immediately upon being excused or released from jury duty where such reporting is reasonable under the circumstances.
(c) The claim of an employee shall be verified by presenta- tion of his jury duty cheque; however, no payment shall be made for any hour for which the employee receives compensation by the Em- ployer for any other reason. Payment shall not be withheld pending submission of the jury duty cheque.
(d) Any employee subpoenaed to attend as a witness on be- half of the Company or the Crown shall be entitled to the difference between his witness fee and his normal day’s pay.
(e) In the event employees serve on jury duty from Monday through Friday, they will not be required to work Saturday.
JURY DUTY PAY. 14.1 After one (1) year of service, employees who are regularly employed twenty (20) hours or more per week who are taken from their work for jury service in the Municipal, County, State or Federal Court shall be reimbursed for their loss of wages while actually performing such jury service, provided the employee complies with the following requirements:
a. He shall notify the Employer promptly upon receipt of a call for jury duty.
b. When he reports for jury duty and is excused by the court, he shall report as soon as possible to the Employer for the purpose of working the balance of the day. Employees that have served a full day as juror, and who are scheduled to commence work after 5:00 P.M., shall not be required to report to work that day. In order to be eligible for such payments, the employee must furnish a written statement from the appropriate public official showing the date and time served and the amount of jury pay received. If his/her regular job is not available, he/she shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Employer.
JURY DUTY PAY. A full-time employee summoned to Jury Duty or Witness Duty, where subpoenaed in a court of law, or where subpoenaed to an arbitration hearing or an LRB hearing shall be paid wages amounting to the difference paid them for Jury or Witness service and the amount they would have earned had they worked on such days. Employees on Jury or Witness Duty shall furnish the Employer with such statements of earnings as the courts may supply. This does not apply if the employee is summoned on his/her day(s) off. Part-time employees, when appearing as a material witness on behalf of the Employer shall be rescheduled or paid for lost hours. Employees shall return to work within a reasonable period of time. They shall not be required to report if less than two (2) hours of their normal shift remains to be worked. Total hours on Jury Duty or Witness Duty and actual work on the job in the store in one (1) day shall not exceed eight
JURY DUTY PAY. If an employee is called and is required to serve on jury duty or as a crown witness on his normal working day, the Company agrees to pay eight (8) hours pay per day at the regular hourly rate of pay for hourly rated employees, less the amount of jury duty or crown witness pay received.
JURY DUTY PAY. An employee who is called for jury duty may be excused from work upon presentation of court notice to his immediate first-line manager. The employee who has been so excused will be paid his normal straight-time earnings and the fees received from the court, provided he submits evidence of the amount received from the court. Only the number of his scheduled workdays actually spent in court is counted in calculating payment. Employees who would be working the hours between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. were they not on jury duty that are not called at the opening of court for actual jury duty and who are excused for the remainder of the day shall report to work within a reasonable time after being excused. An employee will not be required to change shifts because of jury duty.
JURY DUTY PAY. 01. Employees will be reimbursed for the difference between subpoenaed witness and jury duty pay and regular straight time pay for scheduled hours lost.
