Jury Duty and Witness Duty. If an employee is required to serve as a juror in any court of law, or is required to attend as a witness in a court proceeding in which the Crown is a party, or is required by subpoena to attend a court of law or coroner’s inquest, in connection with a case arising from an employee’s duties at the Home, the employee shall not lose regular pay because of such attendance, provided that the employee:
(a) Notifies the Home immediately on the employee’s notification that he/she shall be required to attend at court;
(b) Presents proof of service requiring the employee’s attendance; and
(c) Deposits with the Home the full amount of compensation received, excluding mileage, travelling and meal allowance, and an official receipt thereof.

Jury Duty and Witness Duty. A nurse who is subpoenaed as a Crown Witness or Juror will receive pay for those days of her regular schedule during which she is required to be absent, on the understanding that all monies received as a witness or juror will be signed over to the Employer by the nurse in question.
Jury Duty and Witness Duty. 1. Employees called for jury duty will receive their base rate of pay less the fee received for jury services. Such employee will promptly show his supervisor the jury summons and also show the court’s validation of jury service when completed.
2. An employee required by the Company to attend hearings, investigations or trial will have this time considered as time worked for the purpose of determining overtime for that week. If the employee attends on a scheduled work day, he will be paid for actual time in attendance, but not less than the regular scheduled hours for that day. The Company may require the employee to return to work. For attendance on a non-scheduled day, the employee will be paid for actual time in attendance or four (4) hours, whichever is greater.

Jury Duty and Witness Duty. 11.1 An employee who is called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness shall be excused from work for any day he is required to report for such jury or witness duty, and shall receive for each such day on which he otherwise would have worked, the difference between eight and onehalf (81/2) times his regular hourly rate and the payment he receives for jury or witness duty.
11.2 An employee working a fixed shift or rotating shift will not be required to report for work on the day or days he is called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a Crown witness.
Jury Duty and Witness Duty. 20.5.1 Employees obligated to attend Court as jurors or as witnesses in a criminal case in accordance with a subpoena shall receive their normal rate of pay for any work missed less any monies received for such purpose.

An employee shall be allowed leave of absence without loss of pay, benefits, or seniority if absent for the purpose of Jury service, or subpoenaed as a witness in any court proceedings to which the employee is not a party, nor charged with an offence, providing the employee pays to the Board any fee, exclusive of traveling allowances and living expenses, received as a juror or as a witness.
