Common use of Jury/Witness Leave Clause in Contracts

Jury/Witness Leave. C12.1 The University shall grant leave with full pay and benefits to Members, other than those on any form of leave without salary, who are required by law to serve as jurors in a court of law. C12.2 The University will grant leave with full pay and benefits to a Member, other than those on any form of leave without salary, who is required by law to serve as a witness in a court action or statutorily-established tribunal, provided that the Member has not initiated the action or is not acting as a defendant with regard to the Member’s private affairs. C12.3 The Member taking such leave is expected to advise the Chair (or Xxxx or University Librarian, where appropriate).
