Leave for Birth of Child. 28.01 On the occasion of the birth of the teacher’s child, the non birth parent who is a teacher shall be granted special leave with pay up to a maximum of two (2) days. 28.02 The leave may be divided as follows: (i) one (1) day during the confinement of the spouse; (ii) the remainder of the leave shall be granted within six (6) weeks of the day that the spouse is discharged from the hospital. In the event that birth is at home, the six (6) week period shall begin from the date of birth.
