Maternity and Parental Leaves. The Maternity and Parental Leave provisions of the Canada Labour Code, Part III, Division VII will apply for eligible employees with child care responsibilities requesting leave of absence without pay. The Company shall provide information on current provisions to employees upon request.

Maternity and Parental Leaves. When on maternity or parental leave, a faculty member will receive a Supplemental Employment Benefit (SEB) payment added to Employment Insurance benefits as described in Appendix I.

Maternity and Parental Leaves. These provisions apply to members of the academic staff holding Continuing, Contingent Term, or Limited Term appointments, whether full-time or part-time. 18.9.1 A pregnant academic staff member may take up to 16 weeks of Maternity Leave. Maternity Leave can start any time with in the 13 weeks leading up to the estimated due date and shall commence no later than the date of birth. 18.9.2 An academic staff member who becomes a biological or legally recognized parent (adoptive or otherwise) may take up to 62 weeks of Parental Leave. In the case of an academic staff member who is also eligible for Maternity Leave, the Parental Leave must commence immediately following the Maternity Leave and the combined leaves cannot exceed 78 weeks. In the case of other biological or legally recognized parents not eligible for Maternity Leave, Parental Leave may begin at any time after the date the child first comes into the parent’s care, custody and control, but must be completed within 78 weeks of that date. 18.9.3 Where both parents of the same child are academic staff members, a Parental Leave can be claimed by one parent or shared between both parents but shall not exceed a combined maximum of 62 weeks. 18.9.4 A parent may request to take their Maternity and/or Parental Leaves in broken periods or on a part-time basis, subject to the Xxxx’x approval. Notwithstanding, the Leave(s) must be completed within 78 weeks of the date the child is born or first comes into the parent’s care, custody and control. Working during Maternity or Parental Leave may affect academic staff members’ Employment Insurance eligibility. 18.9.5 The academic staff member must provide the Department Head or equivalent with as much notice as reasonably possible of the date on which a Maternity Leave and/or Parental Leave under this Article is expected to commence. This notice must be in writing and also indicate the date on which the academic staff member intends to return to work. 18.9.6 Academic staff members must provide the Department Head or equivalent with as much notice as reasonably possible, but no less than 4 weeks’ notice, of any changes to the date on which the academic staff member intends to return to work from a Maternity or Parental Leave. This notice must be in writing.
Maternity and Parental Leaves. The parties refer to applicable legislation for maternity and parental leave entitlement of employees. Any employee called upon for jury duty or to act as a Crown witness must so advise the Employer as soon as possible in advance and provide the Employer with a copy of all relevant documentation. Maternity and Parental Leaves. 28.1 Pregnancy and parental leaves will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act. During such leave, the employee’s seniority shall continue to accumulate. Benefit coverage will continue during pregnancy and parental leaves and both the employee and employer shall continue to pay their respective costs. RRSP.
