Common use of Leave for Domestic Violence Clause in Contracts

Leave for Domestic Violence. Where leave from work is required due to an employee and/or an employee’s dependent child being a victim of domestic violence, the employee shall be granted leave, in each calendar year, as follows in accordance with the Employment Standards Act: a) up to ten (10) days of unpaid leave to be taken immediately or in one continuous period; and b) up to fifteen (15) weeks of unpaid leave. Notwithstanding the above, the Employer will provide pay for three (3) of the days referenced in a) above. In the event existing legislation is changed regarding domestic violence leave to provide more than three (3) days of paid leave, the Employer will provide such leave consistent with the legislation
