Common use of Leave for Domestic Violence Clause in Contracts

Leave for Domestic Violence. ‌ Where leave from work is required due to an employee and/or an employee’s dependent child being a victim of domestic violence, the employee shall be granted leave, in each calendar year, as follows in accordance with the a) up to five (5) days of paid leave; and b) up to five (5) days of unpaid leave; and c) up to fifteen (15) weeks of additional unpaid leave; d) It is understood that leave taken by the employee pursuant to (a) or (b) above may be taken intermittently or in one continuous period and a leave taken pursuant to (c) may be taken in one continuous period, or intermittently upon approval by the employer.
