Leave for Employees Elected to Union Office. Upon thirty (30) days' written notice where possible, the Employer agrees to grant leaves of absence without pay to nurses selected by the Association to attend to Association business including conferences and conventions to a maximum of forty (40) days per year. During such leave of absence, the nurse's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer in the amount of the daily rate of the nurse and the Association agrees to reimburse the Employer for such leave.
