Common use of Leave for Jury/Witness Duty Clause in Contracts

Leave for Jury/Witness Duty. a) In the event that an employee is required for jury duty or to act as a witness in proceedings to which he/she is not a party, he/she will not as a consequence suffer any loss of his/her regular pay during the time that he/she is required to act in such a capacity. However, the employee must turn over to the University the equivalent of the amount received for the performance of these duties. If this amount is greater than his/her salary, the difference will be returned to her/him by the University.
