VACATION SCHEDULING PREFERENCE BY SENIORITY. Employees shall have preference with respect to annual vacations within their department and classifications, according to the seniority list, provided they file applications before April 1st of the subsequent twelve (12) month period in which they wish to take their vacation. Applications filed within these guidelines will be answered by April 30th. Applications filed outside these guidelines must be in writing and will be answered in writing within two (2) weeks from receipt of application.

The Employer shall post and update a vacation time calendar as required. The vacation time calendar shall be located in an area readily accessible to all employees.

The Employer will schedule vacations prior to April 15th of each year. Priority in vacation scheduling will be given to senior employees in scheduled blocks of one or more consecutive weeks before individual day off requests will be processed. Request for individual days off will be addressed in accordance with 14.03 (b).

VACATION SCHEDULING PREFERENCE BY SENIORITY. ‌ Vacation thresholds (by job code) will be posted on or before October 1 of each year. Employees are required to submit requests for annual vacation time for the upcoming year using the Vacation Request Form to their manager on or before November 15 each year. Singular day requests will only be considered upon completion of the Vacation Approval Meetings, pursuant to Clause 17.3(d) and will be granted based on: • Operational NeedsDate of submission (first come first served) • In event that requests are submitted on the same dates, job code seniority will be the determining factor. Between November 15 and December 15 of each year, management will conduct Vacation Approval Meetings where management will meet with each employee in order of job code seniority by job code to adjust where needed, confirm and approve vacation requests submitted on the Vacation Request Form. At the Vacation Approval Meeting, employees will be shown a calendar of all vacation dates that have been previously selected and approved. If an employee is not available to meet in person or over the phone, they may assign in writing another employee to make their selection for them. In the event this does not happen, the Vacation Request Form will be used as the definitive request from the employee. If the submitted request has no vacation dates that are available, the employee will be assigned vacation dates at the completion of the Vacation Approval Meetings. Vacation schedules, once approved by the Employer shall not be changed other than in cases of emergency, except by mutual agreement between the employee and the Employer. In the event a shift pick results in a change to an employee’s days of rest, their scheduled vacation will be moved by mutual agreement, to fit within the new days of rest.
VACATION SCHEDULING PREFERENCE BY SENIORITY. (a) The Company has the right to schedule vacations, taking into account the operational requirements of the Company. Regular full-time, full-time flex, regular part-time and auxiliary employees have preference in respect to annual vacations within their department according to their seniority provided they file applications before March 1st of each year for vacations to be taken in that year. Employees will be granted vacation on a first-come, first-served basis for vacation in the months of January and February in each calendar year. Employees with less than two (2) weeks vacation entitlement must take their entitlement at one time. Employees with four (4) weeks or more vacation entitlement must take their entitlement in at least two (2) periods, no period being greater than three weeks. An employee must take at least one (1) week of vacation at any one time. In special circumstances and upon written request to the General Manager, four (4) weeks of vacation may be scheduled; permission in this regard will not be unreasonably withheld.
