Leave for Political Office. 29.0 An Employee may apply to the Director for a leave of absence without pay for purposes of becoming a candidate for political office in the Parliament of Canada or in a provincial legislature. The Employee making such an application shall make every attempt to give the greatest possible notice of this intention and shall actively cooperate with the Employer to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of his/her duties that the Employer reasonably may require to be carried out during the absence while seeking office and, if elected, during the term of elected office.
