Leave for Sickness in the Home. (a) The board may grant a principal leave with pay as a charge against a sick leave entitlement when the principal must be absent from work to attend to a member of the household who through illness becomes dependent on the principal. Members of the household may include the principal’s child, partner, or any other member of the principal’s family or household. (b) Approval is not to be given for absences during or in connection with the birth of a principal’s child. Such situations should be covered by leave without pay, paternity leave, annual leave or anticipated annual leave.
