Leave of Absence Due to Illness in the Family. A leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) year may be granted for the purpose of caring for a sick member of the member's immediate family which includes the member's 12-week allowance under the federal and/or state Family Leave Act. Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Board.

Leave of Absence Due to Illness in the Family. 1. A leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) year may be granted for the purpose of caring for a sick member an employee's spouse, child (natural or adopted), parent/guardian, mother-in-law, father-in-law who may be incapacitated for reason of illness. To the extent possible, the request must be provided to the Superintendent at least thirty (30) days in advance of the memberleave. The employee must notify the Superintendent no later than sixty (60) days prior to the employee's immediate family which includes the member's 12-week allowance under the federal and/or state Family Leave Act. Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Boardintended return to work.
