Leaves for Jury Duty or Court Appearances. 24.9.1 Teachers who are called for jury duty or subpoenaed as a witness (except in those instances where a teacher is a party in litigation against the district) shall receive full salary during the period of absence provided that teachers shall remit to the district an amount equal to the compensation paid to them, mileage excepted, for such jury service or witness duty, and include the summons with the remittance within thirty (30) days after the conclusion of jury or witness duty. A teacher's temporary leave shall not be deducted when the teacher is called for jury duty or is subpoenaed as a witness in a legal proceeding.
