Employees called to serve on juries or to obey a subpoena shall receive their regular salaries during such periods, less the fees received for such service provided the employee returns to work if they are released from jury duty prior to 1:00 p.m. An employee serving on a jury will not be assigned to work on evenings or weekends during such jury service.
Witness or Jury Duty. Employees called to serve on juries or to obey a subpoena shall receive their regular salaries during such periods. Employees will not be scheduled to work evenings or weekends while serving on a jury or obeying a subpoena. If released for the day prior to 1:00 p.m. on a day while serving on a jury or obeying a subpoena, the employee shall call the Company to see if there is a requirement to report to work on that day. Employees shall have the responsibility of notifying the Company upon the discharge of jury duty of their availability to return to work.
Witness or Jury Duty. Any employee who is summoned to serve as a juror or subpoenaed as a witness for the Crown in a case which he has no personal interest, and who would otherwise be on normal working duty for the Corporation, will be granted a leave of absence for such purpose. He will be paid in full wages at the regular rates less legal and authorized deductions for such services upon submission of a receipt to the Treasurer of the Corporation for the deposit of his jury or witness fee.
Witness or Jury Duty. An employee shall be granted leave with pay for service on a jury or upon being subpoenaed as a witness provided, however, that the employee is required to seek all fees due the employee for jury or witness duty, except mileage reimbursement, and turn said fees over to the City. The employee is not eligible for this compensation if the employee is a party to the dispute (not including disputes for which the City is obligated to defend the employee) or if the dispute is between the City and the employee of the City and Union with the exception of grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice hearings. Upon being excused from jury duty for any portion of a day, an employee shall immediately contact their supervisor for assignment for the remainder of their regular work day.
Witness or Jury Duty. Employees who have established seniority and who are called to jury duty or subpoenaed for witness duty shall absent themselves from their work duties only to such extent as to allow them to carry out such jury or witness duties. Employees on jury or witness duty shall be paid the difference, if any, between jury or witness pay and their regular basic pay from the Company subject to the following provisions:
(a) The employee must notify the supervisor, in writing, as soon as possible after receipt of notice of the employee’s selection for jury or witness duty.
(b) An employee who is so selected but is temporarily excused from court must report for work until such time as the employee is actually involved in such duty.
(c) Employees must furnish a written statement from the appropriate public official showing the dates of time served and the amount of pay from the court that the employee received.
Witness or Jury Duty. Employees shall suffer no loss of pay as a result of a requirement to serve on a jury or in the event they are subpoenaed to be a witness in a matter resulting from their official duties with the State. If the employee is released from jury duty early, they will return to work. In the event an employee is subpoenaed for something other than that described herein, the Agency will allow time off without pay if the employee has no accrued leave or the employee will use vacation or comp time.
Witness or Jury Duty. An employee required by subpoena, or summons, to appear as a witness or to serve as a jury member shall receive salary maintenance for that time required to be in court or at a hearing for the days on which she/he would otherwise have worked. The employee shall turn over to the University any money, other than expenses, paid to her/him by the Crown for those days the employee would normally have worked. An employee summonsed by the Union or its representatives to appear as a witness shall be granted Personal Leave without pay for such purpose. The supervisor will be informed as far in advance as possible.
Witness or Jury Duty. An Employee, who worked an average of twenty (20) hours per week, in the previous three (3) month period, and is required for Jury Duty, or as a witness (except in the Employee’s own defense) the Employer will pay the Employee an amount required to make up the difference between the normal earnings the Employee would have received and any amount which the Employee receives from the court for such service.
Witness or Jury Duty. Employees will be paid full salary when they are required to serve on a jury or are subpoenaed as a witness. All moneys received as witness fees or pay for jury duty must be signed over to the Department, unless such fees are earned on days off or during other authorized leave with pay. Employees will be expected to report to work when less than a normal work day is required for jury or witness duties. This provision does not include court attendance for personal legal business or actions against the City of Xxxxxx or the City of Springfield. If, as a result of his/her official duties, an employee is required to appear in court as a witness for the Department, during off-duty hours, the employee will receive compensation at the overtime rate with a minimum of two (2) hours paid.
