Legislative Service Leave. In accordance with RCW 49.100.200, a temporary leave of absence, without loss of job status or seniority, must be granted to an employee who is a member of the Washington state legislature in order for the employee to perform any official duty as a member of the legislature during regular and special sessions. The leave of absence may be unpaid leave. However, an employee may request to use accrued paid leave all or part of the legislative service leave.
