Level 1. The formal written grievance, signed by the employee involved and approved by the representative must be presented to the responsible supervisor within fifteen (15) days after the responsible supervisor and/or Human Resources Director respond to the grievance at the informal step. An employee and representative may file a formal written grievance within fifteen (15) days after the informal grievance submission, if no response has been received by that time. The responsible supervisor shall meet with the employee and representative within ten (10) days after receipt of the written grievance and give a written answer to the grievance to the representative within ten (10) days of the meeting. The unit representative has ten (10) days in which to either accept the answer or appeal it in writing to the next level.
