Lifting Operations. Before the Contractor carries out any lifting operation by the use of a machine, he shall produce for inspection by the V&A: The appropriate statutory inspection reports/certificate. Evidence that the operator of any crane or lifting machine is trained and competent. Detailed information as to the way in which lifting operations are to be carried out and as to the equipment to be used. The Contractor must also consult with the V&A before carrying out any lifting operations with a crane or lifting machine to ensure: that the ground or place where the crane or lifting machine is standing is suitable and will withstand the weight imposed on it. That no part of the crane or lifting machine is likely to foul overhead gantries, pipelines, electric lines or adjacent electrical conductors.

Lifting Operations. Raise each designated bearing point by applying the necessary lifting force at each lift point. The lifting force is shown on the plans. At no time will the contractor be allowed to apply a lifting force in excess of one and a half times the calculated lifting force. At the earliest possible moment during or after each lift, safely secure the structure with shims, cribbings, bolsters or other suitable supports. Show details to be used on the working drawings. Conduct the lifting operation such that the distance between the structure and the shims, cribbing, bolsters or other suitable supports do not exceed 1/8 inch at any time. Perform any replacement, repair, or adjustments to the superstructure steel according to the current NJDOT Bridges and Structures Design Manual. For all welding, comply with the requirements according to the current NJDOT Bridges and Structures Design Manual. All materials required for temporary support of the structure will remain the property of the Contractor and must be removed from the site after the work is completed, unless otherwise agreed to.

Fall Protection On Work Platforms (e.g. scaffolds), workers must have fall protection that prevents or arrests a fall where they would otherwise be exposed to a fall of greater than six feet (6’). A Work Platform is an elevated platform providing worker access from which tasks (unrelated to the work platform) are carried out. Work Platforms include, but are not limited to all supported and suspended scaffolds, rolling and “Xxxxx” scaffolds, walkways and bridges between scaffolds, and aerial lifts. No one may work if exposed to a fall of greater than six feet (6’) without fall protection that prevents or arrests a fall, there are no exceptions, including ladders. Firearms Subcontractor employees are strictly forbidden to bring firearms on to any TRICO’s jobsite, parking lot or facility. Fires Subcontractor employees are strictly forbidden to build any fires on any TRICO’s jobsite, parking lot or facility.

  • Interim Operations (a) The Company covenants and agrees as to itself and its Subsidiaries that, from and after the execution of this Agreement and prior to the Effective Time (unless Parent shall otherwise approve in writing, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed, and except as (1) required by applicable Law, (2) expressly required by this Agreement or (3) otherwise expressly disclosed in Section 6.1(a) of the Company Disclosure Letter), the Company shall use its reasonable best efforts to conduct its business and the business of its Subsidiaries in the ordinary course of business consistent with past practice and each of the Company and its Subsidiaries shall, subject to compliance with the specific matters set forth below, use reasonable best efforts to preserve its business organization intact and maintain the existing relations and goodwill with Governmental Entities, customers, suppliers, distributors, licensors, creditors, lessors, employees and business associates and others having material business dealings with it and keep available the services of the Company and its Subsidiaries’ present employees and agents. Without limiting the generality of, and in furtherance of, the foregoing, the Company covenants and agrees as to itself and its Subsidiaries that, from and after the date of this Agreement and prior to the Effective Time, except (A) as required by applicable Law, (B) as Parent may approve in writing (such approval not to be unreasonably withheld, conditioned or delayed), (C) as expressly disclosed in Section 6.1(a) of the Company Disclosure Letter or (D) as expressly provided for in this Agreement, the Company shall not and will not permit any of its Subsidiaries to:

  • Safe Operations Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, an NTO may take, or cause to be taken, such action with respect to the operation of its facilities as it deems necessary to maintain Safe Operations. To ensure Safe Operations, the local operating rules of the ITO(s) shall govern the connection and disconnection of generation with NTO transmission facilities. Safe Operations include the application and enforcement of rules, procedures and protocols that are intended to ensure the safety of personnel operating or performing work or tests on transmission facilities.

  • Supervisors Working (a) The work of Supervisors will not include assignment to work normally performed by employees of the bargaining unit except for training or demonstration. “Training or demonstration” shall not be used as a subterfuge for the performing of any bargaining unit work. Any claimed abuses will be referred to the Grievance Procedure. Where possible, the shop xxxxxxx will be notified. Supervisors will not perform bargaining unit work until after all rea- sonable efforts have been exhausted to have the work covered.

  • Shift Operation When a three (3) shift operation is established by the Employer, the following conditions will apply: Those employees working on the day shift shall work eight (8) hours at the straight time rate. Those employees working on the afternoon shift shall work seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours per shift. A shift differential of one-seventh (1/7) shall be paid for all normal scheduled shift hours worked. Those employees working on the night shift shall work seven (7) hours per shift. A shift differential of one-fifth (1/5) shall be paid for all normal scheduled shift hours worked.

  • Business Operations Company will provide all necessary equipment, personnel and other appurtenances necessary to conduct its operations. Company will conduct its business operations hereunder in a lawful, orderly and proper manner, considering the nature of such operations, so as not to unreasonably annoy, disturb, endanger or be offensive to others on the Airport. Company will provide all services under this Agreement on a fair and reasonable basis to all users of the Airport. Service will be prompt, courteous and efficient.

  • Operations Logs Seller shall maintain a complete and accurate log of all material operations and maintenance information on a daily basis. Such log shall include, but not be limited to, information on power production, fuel consumption, efficiency, availability, maintenance performed, outages, results of inspections, manufacturer recommended services, replacements, electrical characteristics of the generators, control settings or adjustments of equipment and protective devices. Seller shall maintain this information for at least two (2) years and shall provide this information electronically to Buyer within one day of Buyer’s request.

  • Pre-Operations Meeting PURCHASER shall meet with STATE no later than 30 days from execution of the contract to discuss the Threatened and Endangered Species survey, protection, and planning requirements. Operations Plan. PURCHASER shall prepare an Operations Plan for all operations to be conducted under this contract and submit the plan to STATE at least 5 calendar days prior to commencement of any operation. This plan shall be prepared on a form provided by STATE, and shall be used for all types of operations, including road maintenance, project work, logging, and postharvest requirements. STATE may require an on-site meeting prior to approval of the plan, attended by PURCHASER, subcontractor, and STATE representatives. STATE's approval of the plan must be obtained prior to commencement of any operation, and PURCHASER must comply with this plan. If PURCHASER fails to comply with any of the terms of the plan, including completion dates, STATE may, after giving written notice, suspend PURCHASER's operations until such time as an acceptable alternate plan is submitted by PURCHASER and that alternate plan is accepted by STATE, as provided in Section 29, "Violations, Suspensions, and Cancellation." PURCHASER shall notify STATE whenever operations will be inactive for more than 3 days, and again when operations will be resumed. Upon approval by STATE, the Operations Plan shall automatically be incorporated into, and made part of, this contract. PURCHASER's strict compliance with the Operations Plan, as approved by STATE, is a material condition and covenant of this contract. STATE has prepared the required Forest Practices Act (FPA) "Written Plan" for operations within 100 feet of Type F or Type D streams. Any changes to the plan must have STATE approval.
