Common use of Loss of Seniority Clause in Contracts

Loss of Seniority. An employee shall lose all seniority and the employment relationship shall terminate, upon the happening of any of the following events: 1. The employee quits; 2. The employee is discharged for just cause; 3. The employee retires or is retired; 4. The employee is laid off for a continuous period in excess of twenty-four (24) months. 5. The employee is on leave of absence for illness, injury or disability (paid or unpaid) in excess of thirty-six (36) months.
