Common use of MAINTENANCE OF RIGHTS AND BENEFITS Clause in Contracts

MAINTENANCE OF RIGHTS AND BENEFITS. Past practices involving GE rights and benefits, defined as terms and conditions of employment, which are in effect at the time this Agreement is signed and which are terms or conditions of employment shall be maintained in those departments or comparable employing units where such past practices have been uniformly applied over a reasonable period of time, except where such practices have been addressed or limited by this Agreement. In addition, nothing in this Article shall preclude GE participation in departmental affairs relating to instruction in accordance with the University’s governance structure.
