Major Illness Sick Leave Plan. This Major Illness Sick Leave Plan is established solely for employees who have a major illness which requires the use of sick leave beyond the amount of accumulated sick leave and vacation leave held by said employee. Approval of an employee for use of such major illness sick leave within the guidelines of this article will be determined by a committee of three (3) which will be appointed by the President of the Local Union. It is to be understood that this Major Illness Sick Leave Plan will commence only after the employee's individually accumulated sick leave and vacation leave have been exhausted. A permanent employee may transfer within any twelve (12) month period up to five (5) days of accumulated sick leave credits to a fellow employee in the event the latter employee is absent due to a major illness and has used up all accumulated sick leave and vacation leave credits. The maximum time limit under which an employee can be covered by others sick leave shall be sixty (60) work days.
