Sick Leave Incentive Program. MSUAASF and Minnesota State may develop a sick leave incentive program through the establishment of a joint committee.
Sick Leave Incentive Program. In an effort to reduce the level of sick leave usage, the County agrees to the following sick leave incentive plan.
Sick Leave Incentive Program a. Effective with Pay Period #14, beginning June 14, 1992, eligible full-time regular employees who use twelve (12) hours or less of sick leave in Pay Periods #1 through #13 of any year shall receive a certificate enabling them to take eight (8) hours off with pay during the following six-month period. Eligible full-time employees who use twelve (12) hours or less of sick leave in Pay Periods #14 through #26 of any year shall receive a certificate enabling them to take eight (8) hours off with pay during the following six-month period. The maximum of twelve (12) hours of sick leave usage will include any hours used under the Family Medical Leave Act. The certificate shall have no monetary value.
b. Regular employees must be continuously on the County payroll and eligible to earn and use sick leave during the entire twenty-six-week period from Pay Period #1 through #13, and from Pay Period #14 through #26. Any employee on an unpaid leave of absence during a portion of the designated twenty-six-week period is excluded for that time period. Any employee during the designated twenty-six-week period who receives pay pursuant to Labor Code Section 4850 or who receives SDI integration pursuant to Section 10.4, or who selects the disability leave option pursuant to Personnel Ordinance Section 2.78.790(b)(2)(bb), is excluded from participation for that time period. Any employee who was temporary and transferred to a permanent position during the designated twenty-six-week time period is excluded for that time period.
c. Part-time regular employees who work forty (40) or more hours per pay period shall be eligible to participate in the sick leave incentive program. The same eligibility rules as outlined in Subsection b. and c. above shall apply. However, the maximum amount of sick leave allowed for a part-time employee to use in Pay Periods #1 through #13, or in Pay Periods #14 through #26, shall be prorated. This means for a half-time employee the maximum sick leave that may be used is six (6) hours; for a four- fifths employee, the maximum would be 9.6 hours. The maximum of twelve (12) hours of sick leave usage will include any hours used under the Family Medical Leave Act. The amount of time off received by the qualifying part-time employee shall also be prorated. This means a half-time employee would receive a certificate for four (4) hours time off, and a four-fifths employee would receive a certificate for 6.4 hours time off.
d. The County shall provide the As...
Sick Leave Incentive Program. An employee may cash out fifty-six (56) hours of sick leave per calendar year if the employee used no more than twenty-four (24) hours of sick leave during the year and had a sick leave balance of at least 240 hours on December 31. The measurement period for determining buy back eligibility is December 16 through December 15. The remaining fifty percent (50%) shall remain in the employee’s sick leave balance.

An incentive for not using sick leave shall be provided at the following rate: a teacher using 0-1 day shall be paid $200; a teacher using more than 1 but no more than 2 days shall be paid $100. Twelve (12) month employees who use thirteen (13) or more sick days in a fiscal year or ten (10) month employees who use eleven (11) or more sick days in a school year without medical documentation in two (2) or more consecutive years, will have their account deducted, at the rate of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per day, for those days taken beyond twelve (12) (for twelve (12) month employees) or ten (10) (for ten (10) month employees).
