Common use of MANDATORY SUBJECTS Clause in Contracts

MANDATORY SUBJECTS. 9.1 The State will satisfy its collective bargaining obligation before making a change with respect to a matter that is a mandatory subject as specified in RCW 41.56.510(2)(c). The State will notify the Executive Director of the Union of these changes in writing, citing this Article, and the Union may request negotiations on the impact of these changes. In the event the Union does not request negotiations within twenty-one (21) calendar days of receipt of the notice, the State may implement the changes without further negotiations. There may be emergency or mandated conditions that are outside of the State’s control requiring immediate implementation, in which case the State will notify the Union as soon as possible.
