Maternity, Adoption Parental (MAP) Leave. (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence without pay for reasons of maternity, parental or adoption leave in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act for a total leave period of up to fifty-two (52) weeks for any one birth or adoption event. (b) A male employee, upon request, shall be granted one (1) day’s leave with pay on the occasion of the birth of his child. An employee shall be entitled to one (1) day’s leave with pay on the adoption of a child or on the permanent placement of a xxxxxx child.
