Common use of Maternity Waiting Period Clause in Contracts

Maternity Waiting Period. Any treatment arising from or traceable to pregnancy, childbirth including caesarean section until 48 months of continuous coverage has elapsed for the particular Insured Person since the inception of the first Policy with Us. However, this exclusion / waiting period will not apply to Ectopic Pregnancy proved by diagnostic means and certified to be life threatening by the attending Medical Practitioner. Wherever Optional Cover for ‘Reduction in Maternity Waiting Period’ has been applied this limit will be reduced to 24 months of continuous cover.
